I've had problems with camcorders in the past. And I am by no means an expert or even semi-expert. So, does your camcorder come with some sort of USB cable to hook directly to your computer?

Or does it come with cables that have the white/red/yellow on the ends? If it has the white/red/yellow cables then one solution that I've found to work with my own camcorder is that I hook it up to my recordable DVD player, and then I take my external capture card. Hook one end of the capture card to the DVD player and then the other end to my computer and then capture it that way.
You can buy capture cards from places like Best Buy or Amazon. I've heard that internal capture cards work the best but for laptops external capture cards are the way to go. The kind of capture card I own is the Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator Plus HD video capture cable. It works great but sometimes the audio and video get out of sync a tiny bit. It costs quite a bit of money too so it is up to you whether it might be a good option or not. Thanks for reading this and I hope it has helped you in some way.

Here is a youtube video I posted. I just wanted to show you an example of what the dazzle video quality looked like. I used the Dazzle capture card to capture it from an old home video. This isn't the best example of dazzle video quality because this is an old home video and the quality of the home video was terrible to begin with. So, dazzle did a nice job in the sense that it didn't make the video quality any worse; what you see in the video is pretty much exactly how it looked on the camcorder about 12 years ago.
