Does the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 have a microphone socket/port for the use of an externel microphone?

I do know that HDR XR550v is "updated, newer" version from 500v, but is it really better for recording, quality, etc?

I don't know which one to purchase. I've heard more compliments about XR500v, and that the 550 is not as good.

Ok, so, I have a JVC Everio GZ-MG130U HDD camcorder, which records to .MOD files. I already know how to change the .MOD extension to something else (like .wmv) for editing, but that isn't the problem. Even after I do that, I cannot even upload the smaller videos to the internet without it taking a ridiculous amount of time. Currently, I am trying to send a thirty-minute video blog to my friend. First, I tried Skype, where it says "0% uploaded; 24 hours remaining" and THAT wasn't worth it. Then I tried attaching it to an email on yahoo. That was two hours ago. It still says "attaching file" or whatever. That's when I noticed the thing is 2.2 freaking gigabytes! WHY is the file so huge? I don't know much about file size but I really didn't think a thirty minute video would be so huge. Help! Is there any way to compress it or something? Or maybe convert it to another format? I dunno..but I need help.
