If you want good photo quality you aren't going to find one in that price range, at least I have never seen one. If you do find one it's probably not going to have a lot of functions and the pictures won't look too hot. You could look into the Canon A590 IS for about $149.00. 8mp... I'll get you started. You'll still need batteries (and a battery charger) and a good size SDHC card, so you may have enough cash left over once you purcahse the camera. Essentially, if you can't swing a better camera, then get what you can for now to learn the basics of digital and incorporate the foundation of old school photography. Yes, it is not a pro camera, but learning is important, and the low end Canons are pretty good. It has a view finder; it's user friendly. If you can get something better, great! But any time not shooting is time you never get back.
