I didnt expect much considering the price of the camera but I at least expected a rechargeable battery. All the money you save on this camera, you end up spending anyway (on disposable batteries). By the way it also does not take video. I didnt think I would get a top of the line camera but I expected better than this.

I bought this camera thinking it would be a great camera being that it was an Olympus and their track record. At 12mp and 5x zoom I thought I was getting a steal, but I as definitely wrong on that one. The shots came out blurry even when I wasn’t using the zoom feature. The pictures came out dark or overexposed. There was no happy medium. I had the inexpensive Kodak prior to this one and I’m going to buy it again. If you are looking for an inexpensive digital camera, I would definitely go with the Kodaks.

This was by far my most disappointing camera. Even if you’ve never used a camera before and enjoy the easy settings of this one, you should be disgusted by the quality of photos you get. I get better quality pictures from my 2007 cell phone. I have an old Samsung with sand inside of it that smudges up the lens yet I still get clearer pictures with that. No matter the setting, no matter the lighting, no matter the size of the picture the quality is garbage. It’s dark, grainy and unacceptable. Don’t bring this camera to capture any precious memories because you’ll regret it at the end of the day. It may be inexpensive and a gorgeous camera but it’s not worth it.

This sharp little blue camera is thin, easy to lose but not easy to use. I spent hours trying to set it up (you have to download the manual) and I could not transfer pix easily to my computer via USB port/camera connector and because the CARD is their own couldn’t inssert it into camera to download the simple way.

I was extremely frustrated over it and send it back. 5-10 years ago it seems like the digital cameras coming out were self explanatory, weightier, less likely to be stolen and did exactly what they claimed, but easily.

If you have one and have mastered it – bravo!!

Amazon was great about allowing me to return the FE.

I love this camera. It is cute and compact. Everyone who see’s it say they love it, too. The only thing is the instructions are not very detailed. Overall, you get a great bang for your buck!

First digital camera we have owned…was going to go with a higher end SLR, but after reading the reviews and personal reccomendations from friends got this. Takes really amazing pictures and is easy to use once you read the instructions and mess around with it a little.

I bought this camera for my granddaughter for Christmas. It is easy to use with a lot of features. She loved the blue color and the large viewing screen. Thanks for such a great product for a great price!

I just bought this camera for my 12 year old for Christmas b/c she was always using mine. I thought that the Olympus would be a great choice since I loved my Olympus 35mm. With the price being reasonable, I didn’t hesitate. I wish I did. My daughter liked the color of the camera, and that was about it. The pictures are blurry, dark, and take many seconds to get to memory. It is almost like the camera freezes for about 5-8 seconds before you can take another picture. At first we just used the xd memory card that came with it (holds only about 3 pictures), just to test it out. Then we thought that we would ofcourse go ahead and get the 2mg memory card (this is the highest they offer), to see if that made a difference. It did not. Needless to say, we are sending it back to Amazon. Hopefully for a full refund. I do not know how all that works since I have never returned anything. If a full refund is granted, I will be looking at investing a little more for the Canon Powershot SD1200 — and hopefully, have more success.

Olympus buttons stopped working within 90 days of purchase

Well, somehow after I tried to download pictures to my computer with a usb cord (which did not work btw), the buttons on the camera no longer work at all. Only power-on and power-off, no ability to take pictures.

I contacted olympus customer support, and only received a terse “send it in for repair” email.

I am disappointed that it took 2 weeks for Olympus to give me this lame response.

And I am disappointed the camera is no longer working so soon after purchase.

I thought it was a good deal, but am disappointed. Would recommend staying away from Olympus brand if they do not provide quality support.

I can’t tell how it works because you are only able to take 3 pictures until you buy a memory card; a product that you can’t use out of the box is worthless. So, hopefully, I can go purchase a memory card and then see how the camera operates. I think it is really poor planning and rude that you can’t even use the camera out of the box. What’s the point of that!? So, I hope after all the frustration, it works at all!

Great product. And price ! At 12 megapixels and 5X optical zoom, it’s wonderful for non-professionals who simply want good pictures. A great plus for me is that it uses AA batteries.

The battery and memory card compartment could have been better designed.

But overall, it’s a great buy !

it is good but not that much, my friend have casio which is much cheaper but its picture is much better, I am not sure if there is chance to enhance the quality of its picture using its setting, but I tried.

Olympus FE-46 Being Returned

I purchased this Olympus FE-46 camera as a XMAS present to myself as I had a previous Olympus camera which was easy to use both on camera and on computer. This one, however, is so difficult to operate and understand that I have decided to return it immediately. Even though I am pretty “computer-literate”, the instructions were way beyond me – I don’t recommend it to anyone who needs a simple camera which can easily be used and then have the pictures transferred to computer. I was so frustrated trying to understand all the complicated instructions, that it wasn’t going to be any fun to use!
