nikon lens cover 18-105 question by joolee8503: What type of flash needed for zoom lens?
I'm buying the Nikon D3000 and the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105 mm zoom lens. Will the Nikon SB-600 external flash work when I'm using the zoom lens? It says it provides a wide zoom range covering 24 to 85mm expands to 14mm with built-in wide-flash adapter.
nikon lens cover 18-105 best answer:
Answer by phishfour Yes, it will work.
That is a great camera you are getting. I am jealous.
For times when you are not using your external flash and are relying on the built in flash (if that ever happens), I have found that if you put a piece of paper towel over the flash it diffuses it enough to make it decent enough to use in a pinch.

Canon EF 70-200mm question by lyd285: questions on picking a lens?
ok so i think i am going to get the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens. Here is what i do not understand. I want a super soom lens. But i do not know how to figure out how far away i can zoom into or onto which ever you call it
I currently have the canon zoom lens ef 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 lens and the canon efs 18-55m lens. Will the new one be a lot better and be able to zoom in more? I am looking to do nature shots and such like bird watching etc.
how much closer can i get zoomed in if i get a 70-400 mm lens?
Canon EF 70-200mm best answer:
Answer by cabbiinc Actually you will be able to zoom in less. Your current lens will go up to 300mm, thats pretty good. But if you want to get even closer you will need to go to a 400 or 500 or maybe even a 600mm lens. You are probably looking at the price of this lens and saying "why so much". Well this lens has the same aperature throughout. With your current lens your aperature can open up to f/4.0 at 70mm but only open up to f/5.6 at 300mm. The lower the number the wider your aperature and more light. The second part of this lens is its an L series lens. It has really good glass.
A much cheaper alternative is a teleconverter. It will multiply your current lens. If you bought a 2 times teleconverter your current lens would become a 150-600mm. The drawback is that you lose a full f-stop or two so you would need alot of light.

Canon EF 70-200mm best answer:
Answer by Nick P In mint condition probably 50% of what you paid for it. However you need to do some research which most people are too lazy to do. Check out eBay and Craig's List. For comparable prices. And go from there. You are asking someone else to do this for you here, and as a result, you may be short changing yourself. As an example I keep all my boxes to my photo equipment in my garage. So I have the instruction books and boxes for all my equipment. I can truly say without straining my conscience that everything is "like new". Therefore I emphasize this in my ad and photo's of my equipment shows the boxes. Now that said, we are in a "throw-away society" sadly to say. And whats new technology today is obsolete tomorrow. The thing in your favor is that you have top notch, very desirable equipment, so price accordingly.
One last point you used the word "good" condition, ask yourself, if this item was on a dealers shelve would it past for new? If yes then the word you want to use is "mint" condition. If it shows small wear=good condition, more than small wear then be truthful with each piece as to condition.
