Hi, I have a DSLR camera (Nikon D40) already, but I was interesting in trying out a film camera. I found a Pentax ZX-M with 2 lenses (A Pentax 50mm lens and a Vivitar 58mm lens) on Craigslist for $ 45. I am not familiar with film cameras, so I am not sure if this is a good deal or not. I talked to the guy and he still has it, so I was thinking about going to look at in the next couple of days.
If I do end up going to look at it, what are some things I need to look at? As I said, I know absolutely nothing about film cameras, but would like to get one to learn. Any info on the price of this camera/what to look for in it to make sure it works all right would be much appreciated.

Make sure the 50mm lens is clean & clear, try the focus ring. On the camera make sure there is no corrosion and try out the shutter. Make sure there is no damage to it.
I would offer $ 30 for the set-up. That is fair.
(By the way, I think the 58mm on the Vivitar is refering to the filter size. Junky lens. Do not include that in your valuation. Ignore it if you try out the camera.)
