It has the attractive, compact design. The camera weighs 140 gm. This is a perfect camera in terms of looks, for the style conscious consumers of today's age.

Controls
It does not have a dedicated area to rest your thumb, which might pose a problem, but the slightly indented mode dial, fulfills this purpose without incident. The buttons are rather small, but manageable.

The optical image-stabilizer; manual exposure modes are useful and important features of this camera. It has a 2.5 inch LCD screen. But it has a poor viewing camera. The zoom lens has a powerful 3x optical zoom. Sony DSC W200 is complete feature packed. Sony's Super Steady Shot optical image stabilization, 9-point auto focus, and face detection are all included in this camera. Face detection cannot be enabled in a program mode but only in auto mode. The Sony DSC W200's face detection works well. It can recognize multiple faces.

Performance
In a high contrast light, Sony DSC W200 can click pictures in half a second. It takes about 1.3 seconds in dim light setting. It gives a brilliant performance under continuous shooting mode.
On the flip side, it cannot expose itself at ISO 100. other cameras can do this pretty effortlessly. To get a good shutter speed, you can have the ISO settings at 400. Sony DSC W200's Dynamic Range Optimization automatically expands the mid tones to fix the exposures. This is a great asset.
The sound produced at high ISO is not exceptionally low. You can get decent pictures at ISO 200 without any problems.

This Sony DSC W200 is a complete feature packed digital camera. It is definitely a must buy. This digital camera is great on features and style.

Should I buy the olympus fe-310 digital camera or the sony cybershot dsc S730?

I broke my camera a few weeks ago and I have to choose between the olympus fe-310 and the sony cybershot dsc S730.
Any idea's which are better?

i've got the olympus fe310 & very happy with it. there's a REALLY good site to compare cameras do a google search for steves digicams & you can get info from there before you decide. for some reason olympus reviews don't rate very highly but i've got absolutely no problems with mine at all....great pictures, low cost. simple to use. what more do you need ? happy snapping.

How do I find ... How many hours my mobile has used previously- Sony Erricson ?

I brought a new Sony Erricson G502 mobile, but to my surprise after coming out of the shop I found 400 phone booh entries already in that..It clearly shows that some-one had already used that mobile....

I would like to know how many hours it has been used till now....( even if the previously used guy had reset the timers from the setting option)

That is wrong that the store would advertise it as "new" and in fact it was used. I would definitely return it or sell it.

help sony cybershot S700?

I am going on a trip tonight to Washington DC. I am planning on bringing my Sony Cybershot S700. It runs on batteries, and a few weeks ago it started dying ALL the time! I can use it but after about 10 to 20 minutes it dies! I have tried to change the batteries but that is not the case because sometimes it will still not turn on. Has this ever happened to any one? Any advice?

Digital cameras are not designed to stay on all the time yet no matter where I go, is see users take a few photos and then without turning the camera off, just stick it in their purse.

These are not cell phones, so they need to be powered down as soon as you finish shooting. You also need to keep the LCD off unless you absolutely have to use it. (like your camera may not have a viewfinder) Any time you use the flash, more power is used from the cameras battery as well as zooming and using the auto-focus ... keep all that at a minimum and your batteries should last long enough to take up to 200 shots or more between charges.

If your camera uses Li-ion batteries, they will last longer between charges ... if you are using AA NiMH batteries, you will need to charge them just before you use them ... like the night before.

format error on sony digital camera how do i fix it? is there a disc to reset harddrive?

i have a sony mavica model mvc-fd85 digital camera ,when a disc is inserted it says format erroe 13-1,when i try to format disc error message appears ,i believe hard drive is out of whacck.is there any way to reformat hard drive?

This is one of the earliest Sony digital cameras that uses regular 3.5" floppy disks. Try formatting other disks in the camera - do you get the same error message? I also suggest formatting the disk with your computer to rule out the possibility that you have some bad disks.

If the problem is not with the disks, then the problem is most likely with the disk drive in the camera. You'll probably need to contact Sony for repairs....or it's time for a new camera.

new to photography?

hello, like I said I'm new to photography. I'm a senior in highschool, I will be attending a college for Graphic Design in August, and since we don't have photography classes I've been playing around with a sony digital Mavica of my mom's. I love taking pictures and I want to take this hobby more seriously. How should I go about doing that?

One of the very best ways is to look at lots of pictures. Study them, and ask yourself questions.
Do you like the image? Why? Why not? What do you notice about it? If you could change it, what would you change? Closer? Farther back? Color or black & white? What does the picture say to you? What did the photographer do to cause the image to say it? Could the same thing have been done a different way? How? Where is the light source? How does it affect the mood of the image? And so on.

Another way is to join a camera club, nearly all areas have one nearby. There are also camera shows, where you can learn a lot about equipment. You might also visit your library and look at some issues of Photography and other similar magazines; they are full of useful information.
